Maria João Pires announced this weekend her definitive retirement from the stage for health reasons. We deeply regret this news about an artist who has been so important to our recent musical history.
The concert with Camerata Salzburg will take place as scheduled, featuring Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27 the work Maria João had originally proposed. We will soon announce the pianist who will replace her.
With this concert, we will pay tribute to the career of an extraordinary artist who has performed six times for La Filarmónica.
